If the person is accepted as a member of the Association, the photo, together with the guide's name, surname, and contact information, will be posted on the Association's website under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.giduasociacija.lv\/en\/members\/\">Members<\/a> section.<br \/>- at least one recommendation from an active member of the Association (i.e., the recommender is a member of the Association at the time of application) or a recommendation from a company directly related to tourism (tourism company, professional association, university). A recommendation is not required if the person is invited to join the Association by a member of the Board.<\/p>\n<p>The application has to be signed either on paper or with a secure electronic signature.<\/p>\n<p>Documents can be submitted in paper format in person or by sending them to the Association's legal address, or electronically by sending them to the Association's e-mail address <a href=\"mailto:info@asociacija.lv\">info@asociacija.lv<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After receiving all the necessary documents, the board sends the applicant a copy of the Association's Articles of Association and holds a remote board meeting to decide on the applicant's admission to the Association. The Board may invite the applicant to participate in the remote Board meeting to provide additional information and to justify their desire to join the Association. If the applicant is unable to participate in the remote Board meeting, the Board decides on the applicant's admission based on the documents and information available to the Board.<\/p>\n<p>The Board makes a decision on admission within one month of receiving all necessary documents and notifies the applicant in writing of its reasoned decision on admission to the Association or refusal to admit the applicant, by sending the information to the applicant's e-mail address.<\/p>\n<p>If the Board decides to admit the applicant to the Association, in accordance with Article 6.1 of the Association's Articles of Association, the new member has to pay the admission fee within five working days and the membership fee for the entire calendar year within one calendar month. Within one month of receiving the admission fee, the member will be issued a membership card of the Association of Latvian Professional Guides.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the Association's General Meeting decision on February 5, 2026, the membership fee for 2026 will remain at 40 (forty) euros, payable by April 1 of the current year. From January 1, 2027, the membership fee is set at 60 (sixty) euros, payable by July 1 of the current year. The admission fee is 10 (ten) euros.<\/p>\n<p>If the Board rejects an applicant's admission to the Association, the applicant may appeal the Board's decision in writing to the General Meeting in accordance with Article 4.3 of the Association's Articles of Association.
